D-Jukes Private Members' Club events and Peter Waddell: £500 million from homelessness

When D-Jukes strides into the drawing room of a Mayfair members’ club, people look up from their cappuccinos. He’s the energiser behind E Halo, a roving series of invitation-only gatherings where founders, investors, and thought-leaders swap war stories and hatch fresh ideas for growth. “We’re curating an ecosystem,” he tells me, “not just an event.”

Raised in Brooklyn, D-Jukes migrated to the UK in his early twenties with “two suitcases and an absurd amount of optimism.” That optimism—and a knack for linking people who need one another—propelled him from street level to board level. As a brand ambassador for a British mineral-water start-up, he helped secure investment from heavy-hitters Rothschild and Goldman Sachs, proving he could translate vision into traction.

Eternal Halo is a high-level business event series designed to bring entrepreneurs and business owners together to network, collaborate, and inspire mutual growth. Since its inception, the event has seen impressive traction. The debut was filled to capacity, and a recent follow-up event at a private members club in London attracted some of the city's most dynamic business minds. The event welcomed guests from all sectors, including property companies, business owners, CEOs, AI brands, solicitors, judges, entrepreneurs, and therapists.

D-Jukes explains his motivation

"I believe the future of business depends on unity, collaboration, and shared vision. When entrepreneurs come together—not just to network, but to truly support and elevate one another—we create a force that drives innovation, resilience, and long-term success. Eternal Halo isn’t just an event—it’s the beginning of a new era in business culture."

His latest event featured entrepreneur Peter Waddell, owner of Big Transport.

Peter’s story is powerful. He was placed in care at a young age after surviving a near-fatal incident at the hands of his own mother. He later experienced homelessness and faces ongoing challenges, including partial deafness and dyslexia. At one point, he had to beg for food just to survive. Despite these hardships, Peter went on to build a £500 million business empire—a true testament to his resilience and determination.

Peter Waddell: From Begging to £500 Million Empire

Peter Waddell went from being homeless and begging for food at 16 to owning a £500 million business empire. After surviving a near-fatal attack by his mother and growing up in care, he started as a taxi driver in London.

In 1986, he launched Big Motoring World, now the UK’s biggest independent used car dealer. He later expanded into logistics with Big Transport, saving 80 jobs, and property with Big Offices.

Today, Waddell lives in a £20 million mansion, owns a £4 million helicopter, and continues to grow his businesses while inspiring others with his journey.
