Local officials have confirmed that two major international resort brands are preparing massive new developments in Nisibón, a quiet coastal area in the northeast corner of La Altagracia province known for its untouched beaches and natural beauty. While the names of the hotel brands have not yet been publicly revealed, authorities say the companies already operate several major resorts in the Punta Cana region.
The projects are currently awaiting final environmental approvals, but once construction begins, Nisibón could quickly transform into the Dominican Republic’s next luxury tourism corridor. Government officials are already pushing major infrastructure upgrades, including new roads and highway connections, to support the expected boom in visitors.
For years, development has dominated Punta Cana, Bávaro, Cap Cana, and more recently Miches — but with beachfront land becoming increasingly limited, developers are now turning their attention toward untouched destinations like Nisibón.

If you’ve been dreaming of discovering a hidden Caribbean paradise before the mega resorts and crowds arrive, this may be your window.
